Assessments & results

Should I trust the urgency score?

It's a guide, not a verdict. The model is trained on small-animal triage guidelines and erred on the cautious side during testing — when in doubt, it pushes you toward "soon" rather than "calm." If your gut says something is wrong even on a green read, trust your gut and call your vet. We say this on every result screen for a reason.

The assessment finished — what does each color mean?

Green (1–3): Watch at home, here's a checklist. Yellow (4–6): Watch closely, we'll check in with you in four hours. Orange (7–8): See a vet within 24 hours; we'll find the closest one. Red (9–10): ER now — one-tap call to your emergency contact and offline what-to-do en route.

Can I redo an assessment if I forgot a symptom?

Yes. Open the result from your History tab, tap "Add details," and you can append symptoms or notes; the model re-evaluates with the new info. Your old version is kept side-by-side so you can compare.

How long does an assessment take?

Most people finish in 90 to 180 seconds. The questions adapt to what you pick — if you only chose "limping," you'll only see limping follow-ups. The AI analysis itself takes 10 to 15 seconds.

Account & sync

Do I need an account?

No. You can use VetCheck without signing up — your pet's profile and history will live on this device only. If you ever sign in, everything you've already done syncs up to your account automatically. Nothing is forced.

I'm not getting the magic sign-in email.

Check your spam folder and search for support@vetcheck.app. If it's still missing after five minutes, tap "Resend" on the sign-in screen — most providers accept the second attempt. If you switched email addresses, write to us and we'll move your data.

How do I restore my pet's profile on a new phone?

Sign in with the same email on the new device. All pet profiles, assessments, follow-ups, and saved vet numbers sync down automatically — usually in under a minute.

Can I change the email on my account?

Yes — Settings → Account → Change email. You'll confirm from both the old and new addresses. If you no longer have access to the old one, write to support with proof of ownership and we'll help.

Premium & billing

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, so cancel from there: on iOS, Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → VetCheck. On Android, Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → VetCheck. You'll keep Premium until the end of the paid period.

I was charged by mistake — can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by App Store / Play Store policy. On iOS, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, use the refund flow inside the Play Store. If you hit a wall, email support@vetcheck.app and we'll advocate for you.

I bought Premium but the app still shows the paywall.

Open VetCheck and go to Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases. This re-reads your receipt from the store. If it still doesn't unlock, send us a screenshot of your store receipt and we'll activate Premium manually within the day.

What does Premium actually unlock?

Unlimited assessments (Free is 2 per month), all follow-up reminders, the one-page vet-ready PDF report, multi-pet support beyond your first, pattern analysis across your pet's history, and ad-free everywhere. Free stays useful — no critical safety feature is ever paywalled.

Pet profiles & follow-ups

How many pets can I add?

One pet on Free. Up to five on Premium. We don't think charging per-pet makes sense for households, so it's a flat upgrade.

Why does VetCheck ask about chronic conditions and medications?

Because the same symptom means different things in different pets. Vomiting in a diabetic cat is more urgent than in a healthy one. The model uses your pet's history to tune its read — and the more honest you are during onboarding, the more accurate it gets.

Will the follow-up notifications wake me up?

By default, no — quiet hours are honored. If the previous assessment was orange or red, we'll send a single check-in notification and respect "do not disturb" otherwise. You can adjust the timing in Settings → Notifications.

How do I share the PDF report with my vet?

From the result or history screen, tap Generate PDF report. You'll get a one-page document with the symptom timeline, your notes, suggested questions, and the AI urgency read. Share via email, message, or save to Files — whatever your vet prefers.

Bug reports

Something in the app looks broken. What do I do?

Use the form below with Bug report selected. Please include your device (e.g. iPhone 15, iOS 18.1), the app version (Settings → About), and a screenshot or short screen recording if you can. We triage every bug within a business day.

How do I send a screen recording?

Attach it to an email to support@vetcheck.app. On iOS, use the built-in screen recorder (Control Center). On Android, the Quick Settings tile. Under 100 MB is fine; larger files, send a Drive or Dropbox link.

Data & privacy

How do I export my data?

Email privacy@vetcheck.app from the address on your account, or use Settings → Privacy → Export my data in the app. We send a JSON bundle (pet profiles, assessments, follow-ups, notes) within seven days at no charge.

How do I delete a single assessment?

Open the assessment from your History tab, tap ••• → Delete. It's removed from your view immediately and from our storage within 24 hours.

How do I delete my account?

The fastest path is our account-deletion page. Personal data is removed from production within 30 days and from backups within 90 days.
